51 less than none!

51 less than none!

Day 51 was full of praise! We are officially into the final third of the program. This morning when I woke I headed straight for a swim. Swam 1200 meters or 1300 yards and came home famished. I had very few plans for the rest of the day. I had eggs for breakfast. I had taken my progress pictures before going for the swim. I met one of my old classmates after a long time and he said I lost weight and he sees me going on my walks every day. I happen to walk on the street where his house is situated. One of my mother’s friends also praised my YouTube videos passed the message on to me through my mother. Apparently she liked that I do yoga in my videos and called me flexible in Marathi (lauchik [Lowu-chik]).

The rest of the day I ended up watching this Indian telenovela that my mom has been watching. While the story is a little stretched out and a little far fetched in terms of logic I quite enjoyed how it is gripping and leads you on to the next episode. The funny thing is they never get to the point! Its a daily series so I guess they have to write it like that. But my mom loves it because its mostly about family drama and how the heroine is treated by her in-laws and how the hidden enemies of the hero and heroine are trying to sabotage their relationship but fate has its own plans. It gets on your nerves sometimes because you expect them to make a logical decision but they do something entirely different. I think that is the entertainment value of that show. I used to ridicule it because a lot of times these shows influence young women and it moulds their perspective of the world and that perspective comes crashing down when they come into contact with the real world. I have 14 cousin sisters combined from both my mother and father’s sides (I am an only child but my mom and dad have 5 and 7 siblings respectively). So I have seen this first hand. And I have enjoyed it each time because its so hilarious to watch them fumble into reality. My mom also has plenty of jokes when she sees this happen so it really is funny because she too has experienced this when she got married. I expect this could happen to my future wife as well and I wonder if it will be funny then because I did not see any of my brother-in-laws laugh about it.

Yesterday’s lunch- Dal, Rice and Stir Fried Okra

My gallon was up in the afternoon and I had read my ten pages around that time too. I went for my walk in the evening and then I came home to watch more of that series. Day 51 was a success.
