Day 64 was nothing short of spectacular! The day started early and I finished the tasks of taking my progress pictures and reading ten pages early. I went to the gym a little later than usual because I wanted to avoid the crowd. When I reached there I was in a chatty mood and ended up talking to my friend Bhagyesh for a long time before I even started my workout. Then I started working on calisthenics and I made one small progress today! I have been trying to do the Crow Pose for months and today I did it for 2 whole seconds! That is 2 seconds more than I have ever been able to do it. I now know where I need to work on my body in order to get this pose right. It might take some time because the body responds to consistent work but I think I can do it in the next two to three weeks.
The Crow Pose is the foundation to the Handstand and once I have that down I can work on the next step which is the Straddle Hand Press. I am not flexible enough to do the Pancake Stretch yet but I made some progress there as well. I have been working on the Mid Splits. I was training my hips with the Butterfly Pose and I put kettlebells on my knees to press them down to the floor. It hurt like a bitch but they reached further than usual. I am about 2 inches off the ground and one step closer to accomplishing the Mid Split. I have to strengthen my wrists now as its important to have strong wrists in order to do Calisthenics. Another weak point is my weight of course but I will reduce that soon enough considering the fact that I have taken charge of it.
Another cool thing that happened today was that an old friend reached out to me after 7 years. I was surprised but it was nice to catch up. We used to work together at Mad Radish and we were good partners on the job. We could get things done really quickly and our boss never complained about our work if anything he praised it. But all good things end and I had to leave that job soon after because I had to leave the country. And then immediately after that COVID happened so all contact was lost at that point. Now 7 years later after a bunch of shit has gone down I had almost forgotten about my life in Canada and then my friend contacts me. I was surprised of course but happy to know that she is doing well and thriving.
When I reached home from the gym I had lunch. My mother the genius chef made Palak Chicken today Palak is Spinach. I am telling you that woman is onto something when it comes to cooking. Because I went for thirds today. She literally had to pull the pot away from my hands because I was about to lick it clean.

After the delicious lunch I took a nice long nap. I took the day off from work, it has become my thing lately. I then went for a walk in the evening. The walk was brisk and the atmosphere was vibrant. Finished drinking my gallon of water when I reached home. Day 64 was a success.

Let's hear it!
