What’s a time you followed your gut and it turned out to be exactly right?
Back in 2006 I used to go to extra classes for French after school and one of my friends used to go there with me. His mom consistently complained that he didn’t eat his lunches and kept throwing it away. I wouldn’t blame him she was a terrible cook.
We were in class and for some reason he felt sick so he asked the teacher for permission and walked out and I felt a knot in my gut and I kept an eye on him as he walked out. He was walking along the driveway and he started losing his balance and fell in the hedges. I ran out with a bottle of water and doused his head with water. He woke up but he was weak. The teacher came to see what happened. He was sipping on water but his legs were weak. I picked him up on my shoulder and took him to his car. He wasn’t heavy and he hadn’t actually eaten anything that day.
The summer heat, hunger and dehydration got to him. I asked if he was okay and if he wanted to go to the hospital. He said he was fine so I told his driver to take him home. The teacher called his mother and told her what happened. She gave him some serious scolding and they had a spectacular showdown that day. She improved her cooking from there on. I have seen similar incidents occur several times since then where people faint because of heat exhaustion and dehydration. Some people skip breakfast even if they can’t handle it. My advice would be to eat something or at least carry a snack with you if you have such tendencies.

Let's hear it!
