Tough question.

What’s a book, movie, or TV show that you wish you could experience again for the first time?

I have many favourite movies. I must have watched at least 4000-6000 movies and shows so far. For the last two decades I have been obsessed with movies and TV like an addict and these movies are from a wide variety of regions as well. I watch movies from India which is my home and then foreign movies from countries like France, China, Japan, Thailand, South Korea, USA, UK, Australia, Canada, Russia and many other places. If there are English subtitles I will watch it. Its a lot and I will admit I don’t even remember all the names. What I do remember are the patterns of the plots and the types of characters portrayed in them. Which is why new movies become easily predictable and I lose interest in them quickly.

It will be difficult to choose one for me personally but based on nostalgia and strictly based on my sense of wonder as a child I would like to watch Small Soldiers(1998) for the first time again.

The idea that your toy soldiers come to life to protect you from an army of other rogue toy soldiers was fascinating to me.

It wasn’t like Toy Story because the movie is live action combined with stop motion and CGI. You’d think they would hold back on the violence because its a childrens’ movie but you would be so wrong. It was gruesome and terrified me as a child. The sense of adventure it instilled in me is unmatched and the fact that it pushed me to search for more movies and stories is why I think its more than fair to say that I want to watch it for the first time.

Of course the movie has its cons and is campy but its made with heart. If I watch it as an adult I might have issues with it but I doubt I will lose attention while watching it like I do when I watch movies and shows that are made today. Every minute is made with intention and not even one character is written as an ornament.

You are fully immersed in the viewing experience and regardless of whether you are watching it alone or with company its a lot of fun to watch! That’s what movies used to be about!

That’s my take let me know in the comments what you think and if you have a similar recommendation.
