Day 55 of the Cut

Day 55 of the Cut

Cutting down the amount of videos to shoot has helped tremendously in saving the time at the gym. It was fun when I was doing 75 Hard but the Cut is a different animal with a long term goal so I don’t think a full minute long video will actually help in growing the audience. Not everyone is interested in seeing my entire workout. And Mm whole routine is already on there so it became redundant at one point. I trained legs at the gym today.

A plate of food featuring sliced boiled eggs topped with spices, a serving of sautéed green vegetables, and a bowl of yogurt with crispy toppings.
Eggs, Bitter Gourd and Potatoes

Lunch was Eggs, Bitter Gourd and Potatoes. I’m going to be honest it wasn’t the best of meals. The potatoes weren’t boiled properly, the bitter gourd wasn’t cooked properly and the eggs were boiled and I am not a big fan of boiled eggs. I will have eggs any other way but if they have to be boiled they must be sauced and they must travel into my mouth with some sort of carbs as a vehicle. I was a little disappointed but not hungry so I am grateful for that. It looked great though. I won’t blame my mom for it because there were frequent power outages and we use an induction cooktop unlike our neighbourhood who use gas from the pipeline like its the early 1900s.

I went for a walk in the evening and the heat has not exactly gone down yet but I’m managing. One more shock of the day, well not exactly a shock but shocking enough- the electric bill came in and it was three times the last electric bill. This was the case with everyone and apparently the entire neighbourhood received high amounts on their bills. These power companies scam everyone because they know they are needed. There have been so many outages lately in some parts especially after the new airport was built that people went onto the streets in protest. The solutions are never permanent and people have totally lost faith in the administration. Its sad to see people reduced to this. Not the protesters but the ones in power because honestly they really are that hollow. Shells of their true selves.

On a positive note my mom and I cracked plenty of jokes about the current happenings of the situation. If I say we have seen worse times than this when we lived in Nigeria then that would not be an exaggeration. We know how to survive in droughts and have gone without electricity for several weeks at one point. This is child’s play comparatively. Nothing fazes us. My language lessons are going great and my diet has never been better. Day 55 was a success!
