Day 3 of the Cut

Day 3 of the Cut

Day 3 started with me cutting fruits for my pre-workout. I added milk and yoghurt to the mix. I also had some black tea for a mild dose of caffeine. The entire set up is great with essential carbohydrates, fats and protein before a workout. I used to religiously have a banana and a cup of black tea before my workouts but this one has been a game changer during the Cut. I think its important to stay full for as long as possible during the day so managing calories becomes easier later in the day without feeling starved even after burning a high amount of calories.

At the gym I returned to my full workout routine today and trained calisthenics. I usually do body weight exercises when I train calisthenics and also add some necessary yoga poses to the mix. In addition to that I do cardio in the form of Skipping before and after the workout. In total I spent around 2 hours at the gym today. Tomorrow the gym will be closed as its a Sunday. I plan to go rucking in the morning and then I will go for a swim. Since the timings this summer have changed, I might not be able to record my swims this season because the crowds have become larger and my swim workouts might not be as efficient as they are usually. Its going to be a recreational visit with small bursts of rapid swimming across the pool simply to cool the body down.

Lunch was Palak Chicken (Spinach Chicken Curry) and Rice. The spinach provided the necessary fiber and the chicken provided the protein. I also ate around two cups of rice because I needed the carbohydrates for later. I managed the calories to be exactly 1200 total in the day but I might reduce the rice intake a little bit because I was cutting it close today.

In the evening I went out rucking. If you are a casual walker and have not tried rucking yet I highly recommend trying it. I think its for people who like convenience. I find it challenging even after a week of doing it regularly. The resistance is great for the lower back, core and legs. Its also great cardio. Of course consult a doctor before you do it and if you have back problems use lighter weights. I can’t see myself going back to casual walking after having tried this.

After my walk I reached home and drank another liter of water. Its summer season now and I am continuing to drink a gallon per day or more. I am also taking creatine to keep my muscles hydrated. At night I was watching The Greatest Teacher on Netflix, its a Japanese show about a teacher who is pushed off a balcony and is almost killed before she is transported back in time by an entire year. The events of the year have resulted in her death and she decides to investigate and find out which of her students is the killer. The first couple of episodes are great so far. Its written like an anime. I am curious as to what happens next. Day 3 was a success!
