Day 55/75

Day 55/75

I had a very active day today. As soon as I woke up I did my chores, got in some work and took my progress picture. I was running late for the gym so I pushed reading to the afternoon.

At the gym I attempted 80 kilograms for the squat, I struggled but I got in one rep. I wanted to do more but my body was not prepared for it. I might have to chip through this wall before I get to the next level of lifting. On the other hand I broke my PR of 210 kilograms on the leg press by reaching 240 kilograms. I did three sets of 10 and my legs were shaking after the exercise. I also pushed myself on the quad and hamstring machines. Lifting heavy means losing calories so I am doing what I can to burn calories. I also did Bulgarian Split Squats for the first time. I never did them because I did not see the use for them if I was doing lunges but turns out I need them for handstands. So I have started working on them. The positive of the day was that I got a compliment from my friend Sean and my trainer Ashish who said I was doing the work with patience and the result will be good. I also got words of encouragement from my pen pal Rojie! I appreciate the support. Community is really a great thing for progress.

At home my mom made Nachni bhakris. They are flat breads made from Finger Millet flour. Very nutritious and a good alternative to wheat as its gluten free. But its also slightly expensive so we don’t make it often. It is very delicious with eggs as a wrap or with curry.

After lunch I started working until evening when I went for a walk. The weather is cold but I did not mind it. The dust has also settled down now. They say it might rain because of the storm but if the winds shift it will rain elsewhere. For my walk I did around 11k steps today, I met my friend Sagar but it was a brief encounter because he had to rush home. I headed home from the garden and finished my gallon of water.

Let sleeping dogs lie.

I had finished my reading task in the afternoon when I took a short break from work. The day went by so fast it was quite a blur so I look forward to this part where I get to write about my day. Its relaxing and does my brain some good. Day 55 was a success.
