Day 41/75

My day was packed with activities today. I woke up earlier than usual. I finished my reading task and took my progress picture first thing. I then headed out to the gym. At the gym there was a birthday celebration going on. One of the senior members turned 49 years old today. He does not look more than 35 because he has been maintaining his physique for years. A true inspiration for all of us.

At the gym I trained legs, I also did a warmup routine by Squat University. I was surprised at how effective it was. Although I will have to do it a few more times to actually get into the groove of it. I managed to lift around 60 kilograms for the squat. My leg press weight was the usual 210 kilograms. One positive thing was that the one exercise I dislike the most was actually done by me for this gym session. I actually did weighted lunges. Just one set of it but its a start. I have been working on my pushups and increased two more this week. I do a minimum of one set of 14 reps at the moment. I did 12 reps last week. I am building strength and gains through this method. In addition to weight training I did 30 minutes on the stagnant recumbent bicycle in zone 3.

I used this routine by Squat University to warmup before my leg workout.

I came home with groceries, the lift is still out of order so we bring in little things when needed. I had lunch and then I started working. I was quite busy at work with not a single break until the evening. My activities were not just at the desk either. I had to go out for a shoot and also met a client along the way. I came home and dropped my gear before I headed out for a walk. At the walk I was feeling extra energetic. I was ready for the walk and did so with the utmost diligence. I sped through the laps at the garden and was shaking by the end of the walk because of the adrenaline. My friend Sagar joined me at the end. He had arrived at a different time and chose a different route. I finished my gallon of water after the walk.

I made some progress and I showed up which matters more to me than anything. I had some setbacks but I overcame them. Keeping myself busy is important. Consistency comes from practice but if the mind wanders that practice can go out the door. Day 41 was a success.
