Embarking on a gastronomic adventure, we found ourselves at Shashi Vadewale in Takka, Old Panvel. This eatery, famed for its green chutney, moong dal bhaji, vada pav, and samosa, promised an authentic taste of local cuisine.
Our Experience
Our choice was the moong dal bhaji, paired with the acclaimed green chutney. The bhaji was a delightful surprise, with a crispy exterior that gave way to a soft, flavorful interior. The chutney, a spicy and tangy concoction, was the perfect accompaniment, enhancing the bhaji’s taste profile.
To quench our thirst, we opted for the fresh lime soda, a seasonal offering. It was a refreshing respite, adding a cool note to our spicy meal.
The pricing was reasonable, with the bhaji priced at Rs45 per plate, making the delicious experience accessible. However, we noticed that the establishment could benefit from improved hygiene standards. A cleaner environment would undoubtedly enhance the dining experience.
Reflecting on the eatery’s history, we couldn’t help but admire the owner’s journey from running a street cart by the highway to owning a shop. It’s a testament to their grit and determination. However, there’s still a path of growth ahead, and we wish them the best in their journey.
Despite the bustling atmosphere, we found our visit enjoyable. The food quality and pricing were commendable, but cleanliness could be improved. With the polite and hardworking staff that works there, we eagerly anticipate witnessing Shashi Vadewale’s continued evolution and growth.
