What’s your biggest dream?
I dream to have an ideal lifestyle that suits me. It sounds like a cliché but its genuinely what I want. Here is the list:
- Enough money to never be bothered by a lack of it. I want to be able to afford my hobbies and interests. I want to be well accomplished professionally.
- I want an active lifestyle. I already hit the gym every day but I also want more activities in my life like going on a bike ride across the city or join group activities where people enjoy working out together outdoors.
- I want a nice house with a pool, a steam room, a calisthenics and weight training gym, a fruit and vegetable garden, a fully decked out entertainment room, a proper outdoor space for barbeques, an open outdoor space for a variety of activities, large bathrooms with rain showers and large bathtubs, a fully decked out and stocked kitchen. Ideally I want it off the grid with solar panels and a well on the property. I don’t need to be paying utility bills.
- I am not much of a car guy but I want a motorcycle for fun. I would like a car for functional reasons like getting groceries or road trips. I also want a proper workshop/garage with all the tools one can dream of because I love building stuff and have experience working with wood and sheet metal.
- I like travelling and I want to travel on impulse at will when I feel like it. I had considered a job in the travel industry because I wanted to be paid to travel but the circumstances didn’t allow it and I had to give up on that. Ideally I want to travel whenever I want, wherever I want. I enjoy going to the beach so I think travelling to beaches around the world would be my favourite thing to do.
- I like being laid back and keeping things simple. My mom hates that but its my thing. I don’t care much for unnecessary complexities like working extra hours for a raise or a promotion. Or the hassle of keeping up with the Joneses. Ambition is one thing but sacrificing relationships for it is not my thing. Which is why I want to do as much as I can professionally before I settle down.
- I love trying new foods and would like to experience that and have access to high quality ingredients that I can cook at home. I need to put that high end kitchen to use.
- I dream of having a family because I grew up as an only child and I moved around quite a bit while growing up. I make friends everywhere I go but I can’t keep them. I lose touch eventually. I would like to settle down in one place and have a home base. My parents tried their best to make it a happy home and I am grateful for that but I still have this hollow feeling where I think there is room for people. Its this gnawing feeling between my ears that needs to go. I want to be able to trust people and have the courage to ask for help when I need it without hesitation. I want to be able to be there for them when they demand it. I want it to be more than a transaction. Loyalty and reliance is something I seek in a partner and I know I will reciprocate it. Having a family is probably my biggest dream.
Its fun to fantasize about all of this and realistically I might not even achieve all of this. Of course there are variables that will affect the outcome and there will be compromises. However, that has not stopped me from dreaming. I did promise myself to keep my expectations realistic which is why I am so focused on getting things right professionally and health wise. I don’t know the future but I can strive for it.
