In the heart of Old Panvel, tucked away from the bustling streets, lies a hidden gem: Zam Zam Hotel. A place where flavors dance, and every bite tells a story. We stumbled upon it during our food adventure, and what a delightful surprise it turned out to be!
Our Experience
Our craving for Mughlai cuisine led us to Zam Zam. The moment we stepped in, the aroma of spices enveloped us. The ambiance was unpretentious, inviting, and oh-so-local. No fancy frills, just good food.
We settled at a corner table, our curiosity piqued. The menu offered an array of dishes, but we decided to trust the server’s recommendation. After all, they knew the pulse of this place.

The Chicken Bhuna Masala arrived first—a sizzling plate of tender chicken, bathed in a rich, aromatic gravy. The spices were perfectly balanced—flavorful without setting our tongues on fire. It was a delightful starter that left us wanting more.

Next up was the Chicken Afghan. Creamy, dreamy, and utterly indulgent. The chicken melted in our mouths, and the sauce was a symphony of creamy cashew paste, and secret spices. We savored every bite, wiping the bowl clean with the softest roti.

Ah, the roti! Made by the legendary Tandoori Ustad (Tandoori Master), this humble flatbread was unlike any other. Soft as a cloud, it practically floated onto our plates. The secret? The master blended his own flour, ensuring it stayed pillowy even hours after leaving the tandoor. We couldn’t get enough. We took some home too and we assure you the master was right. We didn’t even heat up the roti it was good as it was the first time we ate it. The server was telling us how the locals would buy gravy from the neighbouring restaurants and come to Zam Zam for the rotis. That’s such an incredible acknowledgement to the Ustad’s creativity!
Zam Zam doesn’t break the bank. The prices are friendly, making it a go-to spot for families, friends, and solo foodies alike. But it’s not just about affordability—it’s about the experience. Our total bill for two was Rs 560.
Conclusion: A Hidden Culinary Treasure
