Recently, we decided to have lunch at The Village in Kamothe near Panvel. The rain was pouring down, and the restaurant was fairly empty, creating a cozy and intimate atmosphere. The servers were quick to greet us with water and took our order promptly.
Our Experience
We started with the Chicken Tandoori, which was a delight. The chicken was tender, smoky, and perfectly seasoned. The accompanying chutney, made of yogurt and mint, added a refreshing touch. Next, we had the Chicken Punjabi Handi, which was the highlight of our meal. The smoky, spicy gravy was incredible, and the chicken pieces were soaked in the rich flavors. Paired with butter naans that were soft inside and crunchy outside, it was a match made in heaven. For drinks we ordered the fruit punch and it was phenomenal.
The ambience of The Village is truly unique. With a forest-like theme, dim lighting, and the serene feeling of “Komorebi” (light filtering through leaves), it was a perfect escape from the heavy rain outside, which we could barely hear. They have indoor and outdoor seating as well.
The Village offers a diverse menu, including Mughlai, Hakka, and traditional Maharashtrian cuisine. They also have a well-stocked bar with a variety of spirits. Whether you’re planning a private event or just want a relaxed meal, The Village caters to all needs and even offers home delivery. They frequently have ongoing offers to keep things exciting for their customers.
