Day 15/75

Day 15/75

A very busy day in contrast to yesterday. Woke up to take a progress picture and started with my reading. I had no particular itinerary in plan just that I needed to get the tasks completed. This was also the third day of Diwali and on this day people celebrate Bhau Bij or Bhai Dooj in Hindi. This is basically a day for all brothers (bhau/bhai). I sent greetings to all my cousin sisters as I am an only child.

I headed out for my first workout to the swimming pool. At the pool I did around 1200 meters, since there was a crowd I could not swim an my usual intensity. But the task was completed nonetheless.

I came home and my mom had made Puran Poli which is a favourite in my state of Maharashtra and we eat it with either milk or curry and ghee on top. Since milk is lower in calories I chose that and ghee is healthy in terms of calories so I did not skip it. My calorie balance diminished quickly however and had to make calculated decisions later in the day regarding food.

A surprise visit from uncle and aunt for Bhau Bij brightened our day as I was working until my uncle called that he was coming. When he arrived we chatted for a while and he gave my mother an envelop filled with a wad of cash. I got one from my sister, his daughter, even though she was not present because of work commitments. We exchanged gifts and I helped them book a cab to go to my aunt’s hometown. Before that my aunt purchased sweets for her family for the festival.

After they left I went back to work for a bit and then headed out for my second workout. I usually don’t take the elevator to go downstairs so when I reached the ground floor the watchman said the elevator was out of order and a cable had snapped. I was counting my blessings because it happened after my uncle and aunt had left. I had to wait a little bit and actually went for my walk a little later than usual because it rained heavily in the evening.

On my way back from the walk I got some items from the vegetable vendor for making a tzatziki sauce. I then came home and prepared the sauce but I might have added too much dill to it. But I guess its alright because more veggies is good for my health.

I caught up on my gallon of elixir(water) after prepping a batch of souvlaki chicken. I might post a picture of it tomorrow to tell you how it went. I lost some weight this morning and skipping dinner is indeed effective for weight loss. I don’t end up adding calories and burn more calories during my workouts. Day 15 was a success.
