Day 55 was quite slow. After taking my progress pictures, reading ten pages and weighing myself I reached the gym. I started the session with vigour but mid session I started wavering. My legs refused to cooperate. I was training chest, shoulders and triceps but until I started training I didn’t realise how much I had to use my legs to train those muscles. My calves and my hamstrings have seized and each time I am in a sedentary position I find myself petrified. When I try to move or stand up I feel friction from soreness. I haven’t been this sore in a long time and I thought it would subside by today but clearly I was wrong. I even cancelled my fasting plans because of it. I had to stop my workout after about 60 minutes. Sometimes its good to listen to the body. Marathon runners hit the wall on many occasions because they are either dehydrated or have run out of energy. This was a similar situation. After training chest I headed home and let the rest of my body rest. Today was one of those days where I did not eat any meat just rice and chickpeas. I took a long nap in the afternoon and then went for a walk in the evening which was not as unpleasant as this morning but it took some sheer effort to move my legs. I don’t have a solution to sore muscles I suppose its rest. I will see again what happens tomorrow. I have been staying hydrated and the gallon of water helps. Despite all of the setbacks day 55 was a success.
