Day 9 of the Cut

After going to the wedding yesterday we reached home at 2 in the morning. This morning the gym was closed because it was labour day. After a hectic day yesterday where I had dragged my scooter to the fuel station and then hit the gym and then traveled a few hours to party at a wedding- the universe sent me a message to rest. I chose to rest today.

I will share the important details however- the food last night was the bomb! It was top tier as I mentioned before and there was no way my calories were going to be maintained. The dessert was Ice Cream (Biscoff and Dry Fruit Flavour). It was a buffet style dinner so there was a lot of variety. I went for seconds for certain items.

Dinner- Hakka Noodles with Schezwan Chutney, Mixed Curry Vegetables, Paneer Tikka Masala, Potato Bhajiya (Battered and fried Potatoes), Colourful Fryums (Rice Flour Papadums), Puris (Fried Bread), Dal and Rice, Sweet- Rabdi Jalebi

The meal was vegetarian because it was a Thursday and many people observe a fast on that day also in many weddings in this region the feast is usually vegetarian for auspicious days. They keep something for everyone for example Dal and Rice are made at home but its kept on the menu because a lot of people have special diets for several reasons and need mild food which is light on the stomach. The sweet dish Rabdi Jalebi (curly yellow and white item in picture above) was so good I went for seconds. Jalebis look like sour patch kids and taste similar but are crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. The closest description of Jalebi most people make is that its texture is similar to Funnel Cakes but they aren’t coated with cinnamon sugar and are instead coated with sugar syrup. They are sweet and sour to taste as one of the ingredients is yoghurt. Rabdi is a cream and sugar confection and is usually eaten by itself but the combination with Jalebi is also popular. If you are looking for recipes do let me know I’d be happy to share links.

Biscoff and Dry Fruit Ice Cream for Dessert

My drip for the event- it was hot and humid so I wore a nice light cotton shirt with a blue floral print on it and a pair of black jeans paired with Woodland shoes since the event was outdoors. I wore a leather strap watch (not visible in picture) to match the shoes. My glasses are brown with transition lenses for sunny days. The shirt was my old size and it was loose but appropriate enough for the weather. I wore layers of Sandalwood and Mogra (Arabian Jasmine) perfumes also known as Attar. I wore Sandalwood on my person and Mogra on my clothes. The combination left a fresh smell and it made me feel cooler- temperature wise.

The event was obviously fun and more than a thousand people showed up to the wedding. My mother and I had to wait in a long line to get to meet and congratulate my friend Sagar and his newly wed wife Shrutika. It was a great night and a great way to recharge after the last session of 75 Hard. Today I took the day off and rested. Day 9 was a success!
