If you could erase one event from history, what would it be?

If erasing history was the solution someone would have done it by now. If I were to remove an event from history it would change the course of our lives quite a bit. I like my life the way it is and I appreciate it. If I want to make it better I have the right to edit the present.

Hot Take- History shouldn’t be taught in schools. It belongs in the library. If someone wants to learn history they should be allowed to access uncensored records in the library. If they want to become archaelogists or historians they can always go to college for it. But schools should not be taught history. In my experience its manipulative and is used as a political tool. Its also a waste of time when you know its going to repeat itself.

I think we need more teachers who can make it interesting. In school we introduce the basics, uncensored and encourage children to go and discover for themselves.

Sounds like a good idea as long as there is no bias. I doubt making history interesting is the problem here. Its interference from the government that really concerns me. We are seeing it happening presently where they have changed curriculums to suit their agenda.

This change in the curriculum was in effect the moment the present govt came in power. It started small and no one bothered or took note. Now when portions of history is removed people are waking up.

History may not need erasing, but perhaps we should stop using it as a weapon. The past cannot be edited, but the present gives us enough space to make better choices. And yes, history has a funny habit of repeating itself whenever we conveniently stop paying attention.

Very true! It does need to be stopped being used as a weapon.

Let's hear it!
