My day was different than usual. I had lathered my head in coconut oil the night before. Its a trick I use to get a good night’s sleep. I use a cling film to wrap around my pillow and then cover it with an old bath towel which I can wash later so my pillow does not stain. I slept in longer than I expected but it was sleep that was needed. I woke up refreshed and took my progress picture before I headed out for my swim.
At the pool I did around 600 meters. I did not spend more than the required time at the pool because the crowd was getting bigger and bigger since it was a Sunday. On the way home I visited the butcher to get chicken. I took the chicken home and washed it. I am aware that a lot of chefs in the west would argue that you shouldn’t wash your chicken. I will ask them to visit a butcher shop in India and then make an argument for their case. I prepped the chicken so my mom can cook it later and then cleaned and disinfected the sink and counter as well.
I then took a shower. A quick tip for hair care for those interested. Coconut oil is a great conditioner. When you apply it overnight, it not only gives you a good night’s sleep but it also soaks your scalp. The following day when you are showering use a gentle shampoo to wash the oil off. Make sure to massage or use a scalp scrubber. After rinsing your hair use a decent conditioner and leave it in for at least a minute. I guarantee you will have the best hair day of your life. I have had such hair days for years.

I worked until lunch. After lunch I worked again and also caught up on my reading task. In the evening, I was not in the mood for a walk today so I did some stretches and yoga at home. I had already done an outdoor workout in the morning so I did not bother doing it again. I finished my gallon of water after that. Day 39 was a success.
