I used to own a black Samsung Corby with a reddish hot pink sliding horizontal keyboard. I miss the tactile feel of typing and texting. I used to also own another Samsung sliding phone but it used slide open vertically. Something about tactile sliding movements made those devices so cool. The screens were tiny but they were so captivating even then.

Phones these days are cool because of the features but the physical shapes are mundane to say the least. And AI features are pretty much ruining the experience because of the pervasive invasion of privacy. They want to know who we are, what we do and how much we can spend on their stupid businesses. Plus there is no real incentive or satisfaction from these products. I also think ownership, agency and critical thinking are threatened by it.

Mainstream tech used to be about growth. Its become redundant now and I miss the progressive aspect of it.
