What’s a book or movie that genuinely scared you?
There is a scene where the title character is making something in a large mortar and she is pounding the ingredients into a mush with a huge pestle. The action itself is uncanny and unsettling because she is humming uncontrollably and the ingredients in the mortar are unspeakable. That scene made me nauseous so I stopped watching the movie.
