The Marathi movie “1234” (2024), directed by Varun Narvekar and starring Nipun Dharmadhikari and Vaidehi Parshurami, has received mixed reviews. I found the film’s unique storyline, which revolves around a young couple, Sayali and Sameer, who unexpectedly find out they are expecting quadruplets, to be both fresh and engaging. The narrative’s exploration of their emotional and practical challenges was particularly compelling.
I was especially impressed by the performances of the lead actors, particularly Vaidehi Parshurami. Her portrayal of Sayali captured the nuances of a young woman navigating unexpected motherhood with authenticity and depth. The supporting cast, including Mrunal Kulkarni and Karan Sonawane, also contributed positively to the film’s overall impact.
However, I did feel that the film’s pacing could have been tighter, as certain scenes felt overly drawn out. Despite this, the movie’s blend of humor and drama, along with its relatable characters, resonated well with me and made it a noteworthy addition to contemporary Marathi cinema.
