Stepping into Soy Street for lunch was like entering a serene oasis amidst the bustling Inorbit Mall in Vashi. The restaurant, though not crowded during lunch hours, exuded a welcoming ambiance. Its interiors, adorned with traditional Japanese-style blinds and lush greenery at the windows, seamlessly blended with seating reminiscent of an American diner, creating a unique dining experience.
Our Experience
The service was commendable, with prompt attention from the polite staff. The menu, a delightful array of Asian-inspired dishes, tempted us to explore. We decided on the Smoked Salmon Sushi California Uramaki, Avocado & Bell Pepper Uramaki sushi, and Prawn Tempura Uramaki for starters, followed by the Prawn Sizzler as the main course.
The Smoked Salmon Sushi was a revelation. The smoky flavor accentuated the salmon’s taste, while the cream cheese amplified the sushi’s umami flavor. The Prawn Tempura and Avocado & Bell Pepper dishes were equally impressive, each dish a testament to the culinary prowess of the chefs.
The star of our meal, however, was the Prawn Sizzler. Perfectly seasoned, it encapsulated the umami and fresh flavors of Japanese cuisine. The sizzler comprised stir-fried noodles, vegetables, French fries, a bao bun, and a side of black pepper sauce. The skewered teriyaki prawns served with the sizzler were a delight, their taste enhanced by the teriyaki sauce. The black pepper sauce, well-seasoned, complemented the stir-fried noodles beautifully.
