Ingredients:

  • 500 grams mutton (curry cut with bones)
  • 2 medium onions (sliced)
  • 2 teaspoons ginger-garlic paste
  • Whole spices (like cloves, bay leaves)
  • Salt, turmeric, red chili powder
  • Beaten yogurt
  • Potatoes (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Gather all your ingredients. Make sure the mutton is clean and the onions are sliced.
  2. Add the mutton, onions, ginger-garlic paste, and whole spices to the pressure cooker. Stir until well combined. This will ensure that the flavors are evenly distributed.
  3. Next, add the salt, beaten yogurt, and potatoes (if using). Mix well. This will help the yogurt and spices to coat the mutton and potatoes evenly.
  4. Now, add a cup of hot/warm water. This will help in cooking the mutton and also create the curry.
  5. Close the lid securely and cook on high heat until tender (4-5 whistles). This should take about 15-20 minutes. Please note that the cooking time may vary depending on the type of pressure cooker and the size of the mutton pieces. If using an electric pressure cooker or instant pot cook for 12-15 minutes. The temperature should reach around 121 degrees Celsius or 250 degrees Fahrenheit inside the pressure cooker.

Conclusion:

This easy mutton curry recipe is not only delicious but also simple enough for even a 12-year-old to follow. So, why wait? Embark on this culinary journey and bring the flavors of this mutton curry to your dining table. Happy cooking!
