Honestly I was at peace this morning because last night I received a notification that the gym would be closed today. I slept in and woke up after my mom’s yoga class was over. A full 9 hours! Complete bliss. One of my neighbours has a baby and that baby seeks me out like the King Arthur’s Knights sought the Holy Grail. We play hide and seek (seek and hide for Americans) and peek-a-boo at the same time. I hide, it comes looking for me and I boo it scaring the little shit. I was in the washroom and that’s when our maid showed up so the door was open. The maid works at the baby’s house too so the baby ran into our house searching for me as their door was open too. It didn’t find me and went away. When I came out it saw me from it’s house across the floor and was about to run to me yelling my title, Kaka!! Kaka means uncle. I know it means shit in other countries. For the baby I am the shit. But before the baby could run to me its mother caught it and closed the door fearing that the baby would cause chaos or damage in our apartment. I could see the eyes seeking the truth of Kaka and the little arms arms flailing as the world was shut out for the baby when the door flung close. The holy grail remains lost.
After that I went for a swim. Quite nonchalantly if I might add. The pool was surprisingly empty because it was a Saturday and people often crowd the pool on the weekends. There was this kid who saw me swim and I was the only one who knew how to swim in the pool at the time so he kept coming to me and telling me to swim. He was amused by my swimming skills and kept instructing me to go swim so he could watch in amazement. Part of me wanted to hold him under water for a minute but the other part of me was proud to have inspired a young Padawan. I simply smiled and ignored him feeling real cocky. I did plenty of laps and came home refreshed.
Had a new dessert today! Our bakeries here make a type of eggless sponge cake called Rava Cake, its soft and made with margarine instead of butter. Its actually vegan but my mom and I love milk more than cats so we put a layer of shredded sweet potato, two slices of this cake and then we pour milk on top soaking the cake and the sweet potato in it. We had pre mixed jaggery and a pinch of salt in the milk, you can add molasses or brown sugar or maple syrup if you don’t have access to jaggery to achieve the same results. Vegans can choose any alternative to milk. The result is this phenomenal soft, moist, spongy, sweet, salty, caramelly cake and the texture of sweet potato balances it. We are going to try another version of this without the cake. Will keep you updated. Did not go out for a walk or stretch this evening. Day 31 was a success!

Let's hear it!
